- CAESAREA MARITIMA
- Drive along the Mediterranean coast to CAESAREA MARITIMA, which was the major port in the eastern basin of the Mediterranean during the Roman period and after Herod’s death became the capital of the province of Judea and seat of Roman governors – including Pontius Pilate. Caesarea was home to the Roman centurion Cornelius (Acts 10:1), and where Christianity took its first steps of transforming from a small Jewish sect to a universal religion. In the late Roman period, Caesarea became the most important Christian town, which produced some of the greatest Christian philosophers, such as Origen, Eusebius, and others.
- MT. CARMEL – Muhraka – Carmelite Monastery. Go to the monastery, and walk on paths outside of the monastery for the teaching.
- Continue driving east towards the Galilee, stopping at CANA to visit the Wedding Church where Jesus performed his first miracle, turning water into wine
- Drive to Galilee

- Day 3:
- Drive to the foot of MT. ARBEL. Early start.
- The hike up the impressive cliff from time to time involves grasping onto metal bars attached to the rock to enable the ascent to the cliff on narrow overhangs to help secure your footing. As you climb, the Sea of Galilee comes more prominently into view. The hike can take approximately 2 hours (including stops for rest and teachings).
- During the hike, the driver will circumvent the mountain to meet the group at the top, where he will be waiting.
- After reaching the top and a short rest, drive to the sites on the north shore of the Sea of Galilee, the stage for most of the events in Jesus’ life;
- Visit MAGDALA, the authentic remains of the town of Mary Magdalena. It was a major commercial center and a fishing village of the lake region in the first century. A hotel that stood on the site was purchased by the Catholic church in 2006, with plans of building a pilgrimage site. But when they started construction, a first-century synagogue was discovered, and the site is under archaeological excavations, with new artifacts surfacing regularly. A major site highlighting the connection between Judaism and Christianity.
