Trip Itinenary
- Day 0 – DEPARTURE TO WARSAW
- Day 1 – Arrival in Warsaw. Arrival at Warsaw Airport. Transfer to the hotel, dinner, and overnight.
- Day 2 – Warsaw Breakfast and start of the tour of Warsaw. We will visit Łazienki Park, where the Chopin Monument and the Palace on the Water are located; the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Warsaw Ghetto, the Umschlagplatz – the deportation point where Jews from Warsaw were sent to concentration camps during the German occupation; the Palace of Culture and Science, Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, and the Old Town of Warsaw with the Royal Castle (outside view) and St. John’s Cathedral, plus the Market Square.
The Old Town of Warsaw, destroyed during World War II and rebuilt through the extraordinary efforts of the Polish people in the postwar years, is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Free time in the Old Town. Lunch included. [Possibility of celebrating Mass.] “The Church in Communist Times”: Visit to St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, where the tomb of Blessed Father Jerzy Popiełuszko is located—he was murdered in 1984 by the communist political police. Visit to the Popiełuszko Museum. Dinner in a restaurant in Warsaw’s historic center. Return to the hotel and overnight in Warsaw. - Day 3 – Warsaw – Głogowiec – Świnice Warckie – Czestochowa Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Departure toward Głogowiec. Stop in Głogowiec and Świnice Warckie, two places related to St. Faustina Kowalska: Głogowiec, her birthplace, and Świnice Warckie, where she was baptized. [Holy Mass in the church.]
Lunch in Świnice Warckie. Departure to Częstochowa.
Arrival, hotel check-in, and dinner. Evening stroll around the monastery and the possibility of participating in the Jasna Góra Appeal, a traditional prayer to the Black Madonna. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Częstochowa. - Day 4 – Częstochowa – Auschwitz – Kraków Breakfast and check-out.
Jasna Góra Monastery Visit to the Pauline Monastery, home of the miraculous icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa, also known as the “Black Madonna,” the most important pilgrimage site in Poland. [Holy Mass in the shrine.] Lunch in a rustic restaurant in Częstochowa.
Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum (UNESCO) Visit to the grounds of the former Nazi concentration and extermination camp built during the German occupation of Poland. Over one million people—mostly of Jewish origin—were murdered there during World War II.
This is where St. Maximilian Kolbe gave his life in place of another prisoner and where St. Edith Stein was also killed. Departure for Krakow. Arrival, hotel check-in, dinner, and overnight. - Day 5 – Krakow – Kazimierz – Wieliczka Salt Mine Breakfast at the hotel.
Kraków City Tour Kraków is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Poland. We will visit:- Wawel Hill with the Royal Castle and Renaissance courtyard
- Wawel Cathedral (entrance), where young Karol Wojtyła celebrated his first Mass on November 2, 1946
- Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture of the Old Town
- Archbishop’s Palace, home of Karol Wojtyła as bishop, archbishop, and cardinal
- Franciscan Church, with the bench where he often prayed
- Jagiellonian University, where he studied in 1938–1939
- Main Market Square (the largest medieval square in Europe)
- Cloth Hall
- St. Mary’s Basilica (entrance) and its famous altar by Veit Stoss
- Old city walls, St. Florian’s Gate, and the Barbican
- St. Florian’s Church, where Wojtyła worked with students
Kraków has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978. Lunch in a central Krakow restaurant.
Wieliczka Salt Mine (UNESCO): Visit to one of the world’s oldest salt mines, an underground city of tunnels, lakes, and chapels—including St. Kinga’s Chapel, the largest underground chapel in the world. [Possibility of Holy Mass in an underground chapel or in Krakow.] Dinner and a Polish folklore show in Wieliczka. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Krakow.
- Day 6 – Kraków – Łagiewniki – Białe Morze – Kraków. Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Łagiewniki.
Divine Mercy Sanctuary Visit to the world’s most important shrine dedicated to the Divine Mercy, the place connected to the life and mission of St. Faustina Kowalska. Declared the “Center of Divine Mercy” by Saint John Paul II in 2002.
The sanctuary includes:- The convent where St. Faustina lived and died
- The basilica
- The chapel with her tomb and relics
- The original image of Jesus, I Trust in You, painted according to her vision
St. John Paul II Sanctuary (Białe Morza)
Located 1 km from the Divine Mercy Sanctuary, built on the grounds of the Solvay Quarry, where Karol Wojtyła worked during WWII. [Holy Mass in the sanctuary.] Free time in Krakow’s city center.
Dinner with traditional Polish cuisine and Jewish klezmer music in Krakow. Return to the hotel. Last night in Krakow.
- Day 7 – Krakow – Prague Breakfast and departure toward Prague. Travel day toward the Czech capital. Lunch en route. If time permits, stop in Brno. Arrival in Prague, dinner, and overnight.
- Day 8 – PRAGUE Breakfast.

Walk through the Castle Hill area:- Loreto of Prague – Baroque pilgrimage site

- St. Vitus Cathedral – the religious heart of Bohemia
- Descent into Mala Strana, with:
- St. Nicholas Church
- Church of Our Lady Victorious, home of the miraculous Infant Jesus of Prague
- The famous Charles Bridge, lined with 30 statues (From this bridge, St. John Nepomucene was thrown into the river by order of King Wenceslaus IV.) Lunch free.

Bratislava Arrival in the Slovak capital. Walking tour of the historic center. Bratislava, located between Austria and Hungary, was one of the key cities of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire. After WWII, it fell under Soviet influence, visible in aspects of the modern city. Lunch free. Continuation to Budapest. Arrival, hotel check-in, dinner, and overnight in Budapest. - Day 12 – Budapest Breakfast.
